YOUTH JOB COHORT 4: GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR 120 BENEFICIARIES

The YOUTH JOB program, led by Youth Education and supported by the German Cooperation through the Invest for Jobs project, has reached its climax after 10 months of implementation. The 120 beneficiaries of the program celebrated their success at a graduation ceremony on September 28, 2024 at the Hôtel Famille Mondiale, Angré 7e Tranche.

The event featured speeches by Mr. Franck GOZÉ, founder of YOUTH EDUCATION and Director of the AY SOLUTIONS center, Mr. Marc LEVESQUE, Director of the Invest for Jobs program in Côte d'Ivoire, and Mr. Ibrahima DIABATÉ, President of the Conseil National des Jeunes de Côte d'Ivoire (CNJCI) and Representative of the Minister for Youth Promotion, Professional Integration and Civic Service. The speakers underlined the importance of this program for young people. It provides them with the essential tools to access stable and decent professional opportunities.

In the presence of parents and guests, the young people received their certificates, marking the end of their training. The beneficiaries took the opportunity to express their gratitude to the organizers, as their spokeswoman, Annick Koffi, pointed out: “This ceremony marks the culmination of hard work and exemplary collaboration between students, trainers and project leaders, but also the start of a new adventure towards even wider horizons. (...) Today, we close these various training courses, enriched with knowledge, armed with new skills, and above all, ready to take up the challenges that lie ahead. To all of you, a heartfelt thank you”.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of “Ma Commune, Ma Solution” community projects, initiated as part of the YOUTH JOB program. Beneficiaries presented concrete solutions tailored to the challenges faced by their respective communities, focusing primarily on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These projects addressed themes such as improving the living environment, combating psychotropic substances, managing plastic waste, early sexuality, promoting cultural heritage, and so on. As Mr. Franck GOZÉ pointed out, these initiatives aim to encourage young people to get involved in the development of their communities, and to train them to be responsible citizens and leaders of tomorrow.

Monnie TCHRIFFO, YOUTH JOB project manager, closed the event by thanking the team and encouraging the students to take full advantage of the skills acquired during their training.

YOUTH JOB is a capacity-building and integration program for young graduates. It offers cross-disciplinary training tailored to the needs of an increasingly competitive professional world.

This 4th cohort has enabled beneficiaries to acquire the know-how and interpersonal skills they need to seize the many opportunities that lie ahead. They have benefited from training modules such as: Soft skills, English, Pack Office, Productivity management, Job search techniques, Public speaking and Project management.
